- Reading Zone Unit 29 An Accident at the Power Station - Read the story twice and do meanings and sentences for the following words;
Maths:
- Master Your Maths Week 1+2 Test (you may already have this completed)
- Planet Maths Topic 28 p. 174 B+C
a) Add up all the numbers, then divide by how many numbers there are.
Example : 2+3+4 = 9 (there are 3 numbers) 9 ÷ 3 = 3.
The average of 2,3 & 4 is 3
(Use your maths journal if you have it!)
b) In question C, change each numbers to the same form of measure.
Example: 1m 85cm changes to 1.85cm

The average of 3 numbers is 20.
Two of the numbers are 16 and 21.
What is the third number?
Step 1: Multiply 3 x 20= 60
Step 2: Add the other two number together (16 + 21= 37)
Step 3: Take that answer away from 60. 60-37= 23. The third number is 23.
Step 4: Check your answer: 16 + 21 + 23 = 60 divided by 3 = 20.
These notes should be in your maths journal if you have it.
